I’ve lived the "expat shuffle"—navigating the professional cultures of Belgium, England and Singapore before finally landing back home in Canada.
Often it takes people 2 or 3 years or more to stop feeling like an outsider and start feeling really well integrated. Between the lack of a local network, a "non-Canadian" CV, and the invisible workplace norms, it's easy to get a little stuck. Little tips can make a big difference. And sometimes those tips are where to find amazing snacks!!
Envoy is about getting you a group of supportive peers to help you skip that three-year struggle and land a role that matches your experience.
Then, if you want, you can pay it forward and support those who come after you.
Transplanting your entire life and career is one of the hardest things a human can do. It's hard in obvious and in subtle ways. Google, AI and visa consultants can give us a lot, but not everything we need obviously.
We're building Envoy to be the private strategy and social network we all want. But you know, not a Facebook or Instagram kind of social network; a real one. It's really new, just founded in 2026, so jump in and ask (and try to answer) a question. And recommend a food place!
